About Me - Daniel Hough
With over 30 years of experience working across schools, childcare, and outdoor education, I have dedicated my career to supporting staff, students, and communities in managing illness, trauma, and workplace safety. My background in the Department of Education and Training has given me a strong foundation in policy, wellbeing, and hands-on support across all levels of education — from early childhood through to secondary schools.
A passion for outdoor and wilderness education has provided me with unique insight into the first aid requirements of challenging environments, including aquatic and swift water rescue, alpine conditions, and remote settings. My work in ski patrol has further strengthened my skills in responding to emergencies in difficult environments and conditions.
My Approach
Through Alpine First Aid and Training, I deliver high-quality aquatic rescue training and nationally recognised first aid courses. My approach is simple: engaging, practical, and scenario-based training that prepares participants for the real-world challenges they may face. Whether it’s preparing secondary school students for safe workplace participation, advising educators across the childcare and school system, or working with businesses, community organisations, and emergency services, I aim to equip every participant with confidence and sound first aid capabilities.
